The Bar at the Highlander Inn is very popular throughout the year with local Speyside residents during the week and at weekends, who thoroughly enjoy the great range of bar meals and drinks always available.

You won't be disappointed by the tremendous selection of whiskies, currently over 180 different, and interesting single malts; the beer and lagers on draft ~ including 3 CAMRA recognised cask conditioned ales always available and the choice of other beers, lagers and spirits.

We also have one of the largest selections of Japanese whiskies available outside South East Asia!

You will be delighted with the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the passion, knowledge and professionalism of everyone working at the Inn. Everyone working at the Highlander Inn has chosen to to be here and really wants you to enjoy yourselves while you're here.

The menu provides a good selection of made to order starters, main courses and desserts from which to choose. Have a look at our Bar Menu.

Teas and coffees are also available all day and evening.

Outside the bar is a large patio which catches the afternoon and evening sunlight, making it ideal for summer drinking and eating.

For cooler evenings, the patio also has a full width canopy, windbreak and patio heater.

As smoking is forbidden by law inside all public buildings in Scotland, this area also provides a comfortable place in which to enjoy a cigarette or cigar.

July 2007

July 2007 saw us going to the Scottish Licensed Trade Awards ceremony in Glasgow, having again been chosen as a finalist in the "Whisky Bar of the Year" category.

We were thrilled to have reached the final for two years running but held no great expectations of winning.

After all we were up against formidable competition again (John & Frances of the Drumchork Lodge and Alex & Cecilia of the Cluanie Inn, Cluanie's first time in the finals so special congratulations to them), and it is almost unique to win this top award in consecutive years.

Imagine our complete surprise and delight when the winner was announced as "The Highlander Inn, Craigellachie"!

March 2007

In March 2007 we were recognised by Whisky Magazine as one of the top three Bars and restaurants in the Scottish whisky world, quite an achievement we think after having been here for only 18 months.

July 2006

In July 2006, we were overjoyed to win the

"Dewar's Whisky Bar of the Year"

at the Scottish Licensed Trade Awards held in Glasgow. This was awarded in recognition of our committment to whisky; our passion, knowledge and the innovative presentation of whisky flights for personal tasting.
