The Highlander Inn is in the centre of the village of Craigellachie, Speyside, the heart of Scotland's Malt Whisky Trail.

With 5 en-suite bedrooms in the main building as well as an additional 2 houses just 35 metres from the main building, whisky bar, "club room", outdoor patio, lounge, and private, off-street parking, it truly is a great little place to stay when visiting this wonderful part of Scotland. We are open all year, and have a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere; a really cosy, hospitable "home from home".

Our vision is to become recognised as one of Scotland's best known "Village Inns" and a real international "hot spot" for whisky tourism.

We have a small but excellent and dedicated team of people ~ the majority of whom are 'locals' ~ whose aim is to ensure your stay is as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

  • Pamela Pearce from Aberlour ~ Chef de Partie, returned in April 2008.
  • Ella Morrison from Maggieknockater ~ Housekeeping, started in October 2010.
  • Clare Morrison from Mulben ~ Housekeeping, arrived in May 2011.
  • Fraser Elphick from Lower Largo, Fife ~ Bar Manager, started in December 2011.
  • Paul Barnsley from Yorkshire ~ Chef de Partie, joined us in March 2012.
  • Sarah Cook from Forres ~ Bar & Food Service, started in November 2012.
  • Cassandara Thornton originally from The Netherlands, now living in Elgin ~ Bar & Food Service, joined in April 2013.

    • Yumi Yoshikawa, who worked with us for 2 years as our whisky "otaku", has had to leave the UK as her Visa expired at the end of April 2013 and the UK Border Agency, in their infinite wisdom, wouldn't allow her to extend it! However, we're delighted that

  • Mayu Hamanishi from Osaka, Japan ~ Bar & Food Service, will be our new whisky "otaku" joining us in May 2013.
